The Importance of Professional Photography
Marketing a Home
Dear Mr. Real Estate Agent,
We know you own a camera. We know the helpful man at BestBuy told you it was a good camera. We know that you read the manual and you know how to work the focus – kinda. We know that you think you can save money by taking the pictures yourself. Let’s be honest, is there really a difference between your pictures and ours?
Oh.
Look, it’s not like a seller expects you to post pictures of their house on Zillow, Trulia, or any other website frequented by home buyers. Most sellers do not care to see pictures of their house on the internet, right? Even if they do expect pictures, they aren’t expecting quality or anything, they just want to be sure that you’ll do what you must to sell their home. Keep it simple and leap that low bar. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and there are enough beholders on the internet that, certainly, someone will admire your work.
Sure, we think professional photography is critical to wowing prospective buyers. Yeah, we believe that creativity goes hand in hand with innovation and both are critical for obtaining results. Yeah, we want people to see themselves in the homes we photograph; we want our pictures to spark imagination. But that’s just us, we’re different, we’re outliers. Pay no attention to our professional photographers behind the lens.
Kind Regards,
Fitzpatrick and Prince Real Estate.
