If It Sounds Too Good To Be True...

Finding a Home

"Nothing in life is free." "Money doesn’t grow on trees." We’ve all heard these sayings. They apply to real estate just like anything else. You will never find a pennies-on-a-dollar sort of deal. If you think you’ve found one, get suspicious. Very suspicious. The people behind the “deal” are professionals. Selling a home for too little is very bad business. Agencies are simply not going to make such a mistake. They are up to something else.

What are they up to, you may ask? They want your contact information. They want to sell you a different home. The “deal” is simply bait to get you to contact them. We might sound a little conspiracy theorist about this, but such “deals” can really be that sketchy.

The same is true if an agency offers free services or really low priced package deals. They might claim that they are experts in marketing, or short sales. Really, if they truly specialized in these fields, they would not be offering the services for free. Often what you will discover once you call is that they want to talk you into an entirely different sort of situation than the one they advertised. They really had no intention of giving you free services or ridiculous discounts, because, like we said before, it’s just plain bad business.

In the end, your common sense can win the day. Keep in mind that people are making their livings off of your decisions, and will not work for less than their time and effort is worth. Good deals are out there to be found, but ridiculous deals are... well... just ridiculous.

You will be best off if you find a real estate agency you can trust. Yes, there are some out there. We strive to be one of them here are Fitzpatrick and Prince. You can then rest, knowing that your agent is being honest with you. How do you know if an agency is trustworthy? Well, make sure they aren’t using deceptive means of getting people’s contact info, for starters.
